Volunteer with us
In the Library
You may not be financially compensated if you're a volunteer, but it still pays well!
If you're interested in volunteering, please call, email, or come and see the library manager, Sarah Whitmore. We are looking not just for counter staff and help with shelving books, but also for help in more specific areas such as IT Tuition, children's literacy, craft activities and fundraising,
Please have a look at the rest of this page for further information or email the library with your questions:
Do you run a club or wish to start one?
Perhaps the library is your ideal venue. We would love to hear from you with your ideas as to how we might further support our local community. Contact the library manager via the email link above.

Haddenham Community Library is a charity. We work hard to maintain our income so that we can continue to offer our services to our local community and to be able to plan for development of our offering. We are very grateful to our regular donors, some of whom are organisations, others individuals. We hold our own events to raise funds, but we also enjoy the proceeds of other fundraising events which are organised on our behalf by our supporters.
There have been cake sales and donations in lieu of birthday presents. Some community libraries enjoy the proceeds from charity auctions and golf days. Your creativity is the only limit!
Get in touch and tell us your ideas.
be a friend
Haddenham Community Library is developing a Friends programme which we hope to be able to launch very soon. As soon as we are able, we will be organising events, meetings, readings, outings and a newsletter to keep our supporters active and interested in our work.
Keep an eye open here and for social media announcements that the programme is up and running. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Santa is one of our friends and reads to the children every year
be a trustee
We are always on the lookout for new members of our trustee team
Do you enjoy using Haddenham's library?
Would you like to help it continue and grow?
Could you work with a group of local people to make this happen?
Why not offer your time, energy and skills to the Library as a Trustee?
If you would like to learn more about the library and how it works, our website is a good place to start and if you think you would be interested in joining us then a job description outlining the commitments, responsibilities and requirements of a trustee is available; please ask at the counter in the library for a copy or email us and ask us to send it to you firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are considering applying then you might like to have an informal talk with the Board Chairman, Susan Toner. Either leave your contact details with the Library Manager, or email email@example.com and she will get in touch with you.
The trustees look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your interest in helping this unique community resource
